Where Your Melt’s Flavor Comes From
Zhen GuThe scent of rose in a cup, the brightness of mango, the warmth of ginger: those are the little details that make a drink worth pausing for. If you enjoy them, you may also want to know where they come from.
For Eastern Petal, the answer begins with named ingredients. All four of our botanical melt blends are made with no added natural flavoring. Each has a different combination of fruits, flowers, coffee, tea, and other listed ingredients. Here’s a closer look at what’s behind the flavors.
If you are choosing a clean label tea, it helps to look at the full ingredient list and ask where the flavor comes from. Two Brews brings coffee together with Liubao dark tea. Our other three blends are fruit, floral, or spiced botanical infusions, with no tea leaves.
Follow the flavor
Coconut on Mango opens with ripe mango. Coconut gives the cup a smooth, creamy impression, while grapefruit brings a bright edge. Sakura Glow has a softer floral opening: cherry blossom meets the red-fruit tartness of cranberry and raspberry.
In Spice That Rose, rose fragrance leads into the warmth of ginger. Two Brews takes a roasted direction, bringing coffee together with the earthy depth of Liubao tea. You might gravitate toward one familiar ingredient, then find something to enjoy in the combination.
Flavor language can be wonderfully suggestive. Two Brews has notes of cocoa and toasted grain, for example, though neither cocoa nor grain is listed as an ingredient. Those words describe the roasted character of the cup. In the same way, “creamy” describes Coconut on Mango’s sensory impression.
